The Dichotomy of Readiness

There is a dichotomy to maintaining readiness of force.

Individuals must be exposed to subconcussive forces during training to maintain readiness, but those forces can chip away at performance.

Particularly performance of the sensory systems for situational awareness.

Strategy:

  1. Mitigation of unnecessary exposures.
  2. Maximizing time between exposures.
  3. Structuring training to prioritize sleep after exposures.

Finally, we must incorporate training of the sensory systems for situational awareness in a proactive, performance-based approach. Strengthening capabilities of systems vulnerable to these exposures.

Subconcussions aren’t going away.

Instead of ignoring the impact they have until it becomes a problem, we can incorporate simple strategies to protect the individual while still maintaining the highest level of performance and readiness.
